The 13th annual Gun Show and Sportsman’s Flea Market has come and gone. The show was a tremendous success judging by the smiles and enthusiastic comments. Hummelstown Field and Stream has reason to be proud of what was presented, but it was no simple matter completed by one person. It took a team to perform all the tasks, big and small, to get everything ready. In appreciation for those who helped, the following individuals and groups are recognized:
Paul Stokes for doing everything he does around the club.
Sheree and Paul Potteiger for their excellent food service.
Brian Boyer for helping with the golf carts, opening the rooms, and always being there.
Members of the pistol team, including John, Don, Derrick, Steve, Tom, Paul and many others who cleaned and cleared the floor, and who set up and removed the vendor tables.
Derrick Grossman for helping to acquire the ATM machine.
Jeff Crichton for helping with the admissions table, and with helping to manage many of the tasks during the show.
Jim Zugay for helping with the admissions table.
Scott Deal for helping to organize and deliver an effective parking system, and thanks to all who helped him.
Carmen Beinhauer, Lissa Semic, and Bob Templin for shuttling guests up and down the hill.
Bill Grooms who served as the show’s safety person.
Phil Zimmerman of Zimm’s Guns and Ammo (Hummelstown) for registering gun sales through his Federal Firearms License (FFL).
Those who helped dismantle and store the vendor tables (who in my old age I have lost their names).
Joe Webber and the numerous HFS members who circulated the Gun Show fliers to numerous venues.
To all these individuals and groups, the vendors, and others, we say thank you for jobs well done!
Sincerely, Bill Thompson
Due to the severe weather forecast, HF&S will not be open for sporting clays this Sunday, January 28. Thank you for your understanding.
Every association’s strength is in its members, and your participation and support of HF&S is vital to the future of our club. Please continue being an active member as well as to consider volunteering at anytime. Whatever your skill, we could use the help! Manual labor, clearing snow, leaves or branches (depending on the season) manning tables for sporting clays or helping with the rifle range on tournament days, or indoor pistol. Thank you!

We are about to begin another season of outdoor sports, and look forward to seeing all of you!
As you return to the Hummelstown Field and Stream facility you will notice some major changes to the appearance of the property. We have begun preparation for additional fill and berm improvements. The 200 Yard Range is in the process of getting a Safety Berm along the left side, and the Wildcat slope is also being filled to provide safer access to the Trap House. Additional tree cutting will be done on the left side of the 100 Yard Range for the addition of a full Safety Berm, as well as a berm across the back (behind the covered benches) to help with sound and safety. We are working with the Contractor to maintain access to the Ranges as work progresses. We ask members to please be cooperative and safe while the work is being done.
There also has been some tree cutting behind the Wildcat Parking area for the expansion of grass parking. Note about the trees being cut, as we needed to remove the trees to
accomplish the needed safety improvements, we did not want to just cut trees and waste them. We have found a Lumber cutter that is buying the lumber trees from the club. This will benefit the Club and put the cut trees to use.
We will be replanting trees once the project is complete. We ask our members to provide information for low cost/ no cost trees to be acquired for replanting.
I hope this will explain some of what is being done for our club as we maintain our club for years to come.
